Now is the past.

A solace of uncertainty,
looms gravely upon you.
For what has to happen,
in due time, will happen.

There are touts and schemers,
A twisted ear for a twisted tongue.
None say what comes next,
None say what distress we await.

A happy thought hither,
A fearful nightmare thither.
Yet, in this turmoil of life.
You breathe, you laugh, you live.

Nobody knows what's next,
The cake on your face,
for a new dawn.
Or a garland on your frame.
For a dusky goodbye.

You live not once,
You live not nine times.
You live a billion moments.
Each one different from the next.

Cheers to what now is for thats the past again.
Cheers to what the future is for it is our present.
Cheers to today, taken
one moment at a time.
